I have been an effective voice for you on the Blaine Planning Commission since 2010. We worked hard to tee up economic growth that's starting to go the right direction. On city council, I want the biggest sustainable impact for Blaine. I am committed to hearing everyone's concerns, being proactive, and digging a little deeper for the best outcomes.

  • Served Blaine Planning Commission & Parks Board
  • Elected by the voters to 2015 Whatcom Charter Commission
  • Owned 2 businesses with combined 20 employees
  • Was president of Everson Nooksack Chamber of Commerce
  • Helped win county library levy and Blaine school bond
  • Boardmember of dropout prevention org serving Blaine

Other Community Service
  • Served two terms on Whatcom County Permit Appeals Board
  • Served on board of Blaine Community Theater
  • Volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in Blaine
  • Volunteered with Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association
  • Helped win a traffic safety initiative in Bellingham.

I bought my property here in 1994, because I enjoy the excitement of being a seaside border town that still has a Norman Rockwell feel to it.

My goal is to be one of the most responsive and results-oriented council members you've seen on Blaine City Council. To solve and improve the things that can be done better, or to much more fully explain to the public the how and why of things that can not be done better.

Please vote for me for Blaine City Council.
Thanks. Richard May.
